A DOG groomer has revealed the breed that annoys them to no end.
They explained that the giant dogs are a constant headache and a nightmare to groom.
Redditor Somesweedishtrees shared their pet take in a viral post.
“I cannot STAND Bernese mountain dogs,” they explained.
While they admitted the large animals are sweet when they’re in a comfortable environment, grooming time is a different story.
“I know they’re lovely when they’re home or somewhere they want to be, but I’ve seriously known maybe three that weren’t massive, quivering, panicked messes for grooming,” they said.
“I’m so glad I don’t see many these days.”
On the other hand, the dog groomer said they have had pleasant experiences with two breeds they think are a joy to care for.
“I LOVE rando scruffy terrier mixes, the kind that looks like they just crawled out of a turn-of-the-century garbage can to follow the orphan chimney sweep boy that gives them crusts of bread,” they said.
Not only are terrier mixes cute to them, but extremely easy and low-maintenance to keep clean.
“Their hair is rarely matted, and when it is, it tends to come out easily,” they said.
“They wash/rinse fast, dry fast, and look better when not over-groomed.
“They’re just so easy to do, and I think they’re so stinkin’ cute.”
Another dog breed was a pleasant surprise for them, thanks to the kind of owners they tend to have.
“Surprisingly, I usually like grooming doodles. There are SO many here (CT/NY area just above NYC) and I’ve gotten very good at both dealing with the customers and also making them happy,” they said.
“I can’t tell you how many people have told me that I’m ‘the only one’ who makes their doodle look the way they want.
“Because of the area, I’m able to charge appropriately for them, too!”
Signs your dog could turn dangerous
Expert advice from Dr. Sara Ochoa, who has been practicing veterinary medicine for over five years.
Ochoa told The U.S. Sun observing a dog’s behavior can provide clues that they might act out.
“A dog that looks tense all over with its fur sticking up or teeth showing is more likely to snap,” she said.
“Staring real hard without blinking could mean trouble too.
“Growling is also a warning the dog is getting mad.”
She said dogs may tuck their tail between their legs when they feel scared or threatened.
“Staying calm and keeping space may help things not to escalate if a dog seems on edge,” she said.Â
Other dog groomers opened up about their least and favorite kinds of dogs to care for too.
“Hate grooming cocker spaniels because they take forever to dry,” said one.
“Love grooming Yorkies because they are so quick and easy and cute!”
Another joked that they should initiate a deal that works for them.
“I’ll groom all your cocker spaniels if you groom all my Yorkies,” they replied.
