The vet listed five of the dog breeds he and his staff are scared of and kicked things off with the Chow Chow.

Originally from China, this giant breed was once used as guard dogs during the Han Dynasty 2000 years ago.

These fluffy dogs are known to be independent in nature but can try to assert dominance if they haven't been properly trained, says Hillspet.

Not only that, they can become very protective of themselves and their family which could be why vets like Dr Amir are wary of them.

The vet also put Cocker Spaniels on the list of dogs he and his staff are scared of.

While this breed is usually a family favourite dog, Amir clearly thought differently.

They are known to have a happy temperament however can be prone to sudden bursts of aggression which come out of nowhere.

The issue is so common it even has it's own name Spaniel Rage or Cocker Rage.

Rottweilers were also put on the list.

These giant breeds are often used as security or protection dogs, but can be total softies when they are trained properly.

‘They have a 40% increased risk of early death’ vet reveals the dog breeds that are most likely to die young including a pet that only lives 5 years

Small and mighty – the Chihuahua also made it onto the list of scary breeds.

What they lack in height they make up for in attitude, and these tiny dogs are prone to behaviour problems when they aren't trained.

Some issues in these small dogs include separation anxiety, begging and even biting.

Amir then revealed the last dog on his list, the Belgian Malinois.

Most popular dog breeds in the UK

Dog experts, Tug-E-Nuff, surveyed the UK to find out their favourite dog breeds, here's the top ten.

  1. Labrador Retriever
  2. Border Collie
  3. English Cocker Spaniel
  4. Cockapoo
  5. Golden Retriever
  6. German Shepherd Dog
  7. Staffordshire Bull Terrier
  8. Springer Spaniel
  9. Jack Russell Terrier
  10. Labradoodle

This breed is often used to herd animals, making them protective in nature.

The video shared to Amir's TikTok account @amirthevet went viral with over 1 million views and it clearly riled up dog owners.

One person wrote: “As a vet tech I’ve never met a chow chow that didn’t try to eat us.”

Another commented: “Oh please. Leave Cocker Spaniels alone. They are loving dogs.”

“I have a 13 year old Chihuahua, 13 years of living in fear,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “What?!!! Rottweilers and Cocker Spaniels are so cute.”

“When I worked at a vet as an assistant, we had one doctor that wouldn’t see Chows or Shar Pais,” claimed a fifth.
