If you find yourself wondering what your dog is up to throughout the workday or while you’re out running errands, the Furbo dog camera may be just what you need — and if so, it’d be a great pickup during Amazon’s Cyber Monday sale. This smart camera is designed to help pet owners check in on their furry friends throughout the day with a 360-degree lens, motion alerts and the ability to remotely toss your pet a treat.
My dog and I are big fans of the Furbo. I often joke that I’m the one with separation anxiety, not my dog. But this smart camera gives me better peace of mind when I have to leave the pup at home. Not only do I personally love it, but it earned the top spot in our list of the best home pet cameras of 2024. The best part? Right now, you can get the Furbo dog camera on sale for $45, a 55% discount off its list price.
The Furbo does require a subscription to unlock its full capabilities with real-time updates to your mobile device. That costs $69 per year. CNET Editor Tyler Lacoma tested the camera for our best pet home camera roundup. “The cam itself is no slouch, with 360-degree panning and intelligent tracking features plus an HD resolution with 4x zoom and night vision,” Lacoma said. He also praised the wide array of pet alerts that the camera can send and the value of the subscription service.
Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.
I too am a big fan of the alerts that come through on the Furbo mobile app. It alerts you when your pet is moving around, when they bark or howl, if they throw up and more. There’s even an adorable selfie alert that it sends you when your pet stares directly into the camera. One of my favorite things about the app is that it gives you a little doggie diary at the end of the day, which is basically a short compilation of your dog’s day through videos captured on the Furbo. As someone whose camera roll is basically dedicated to their dog, I love having the option to view and download these little diary videos.
In addition, the two-way audio and treat tossing capabilities come in handy when my dog is barking at the mailman or a noise outside and needs a quick distraction. There are also home security alerts in case the camera detects smoke, glass breaking or a person entering your home, so it can double as an indoor home security camera. Though be warned: The Furbo camera has mistaken my goldendoodle for a person once or twice, so don’t immediately panic if you get an unexpected person alert.
Snag this deal on Amazon while you can, and keep up with all of the latest deals with our Cyber Monday live blog. We’ll be updating it through the Cyber Week shopping period to help you stay up to date on the best deals as they become available.
At 55% off, this is a pretty unbeatable discount. It’s the lowest price this item has ever dropped to on Amazon, and the product itself is a steal for $45. It topped our expert-tested list of the best pet cameras and is a personal favorite of some of our CNET team. Plus, your dog deserves something nice this holiday season.
