“His blanket, his bed, his bowl — everything is still in place, waiting on him to come home,” Peggy Allawat said.
INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis woman is going to great lengths to track down her dog.
Peggy Allawat said her 8-year-old Yorkie, named Lil-Bit, got out from her garage and walked a few doors down — but never returned home. Neighbors told Allawat they saw someone in a car pull over and pick up the dog before driving away.
This happened July 18 in the 8200 block of Christiana Lane, near East 82nd Street and Hague Road on the city's northeast side.
She is now warning other pet owners about the theft.
Leslie Kingston, a local groomer who runs a popular dog-related Facebook page called Pucci's, said in the last month, she's gotten word of several missing Yorkies.
Allawat is vowing to stop at nothing to get her pup back. She said not knowing where he is has been a nightmare.
“It's total hell. Devastating every day,” Allowat said. “I have a crate here, hopefully somebody honest will do the right thing to bring him back. His blanket, his bed, his bowl — everything is still in place, waiting on him to come home.”
