ATLANTA – Organizers of the 2022 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) reported a “highly productive” 2022 trade show in Atlanta Jan. 25-27. A total of 1,121 exhibitors showcased their latest technology and solutions, occupying more than 500,000 square feet of exhibit space.

“The level of energy at the 2022 IPPE was extremely exciting, especially considering these past two challenging years. As we heard from many attendees and exhibitors, IPPE exceeded their expectations,” IPPE show organizers said.

IPPE is sponsored by the US Poultry & Egg Association, American Feed Industry Association and North American Meat Institute.

“While we recognize that not all of our industry colleagues could be with us this year, the optimism felt from attendees proved there is a strong need for fostering personal relationships and professional development,” organizers said. “So, we hope to see them again at next year’s IPPE.”

The 2022 IPPE had almost 22,000 registered attendees from the poultry, meat and animal food industry. Attendee numbers were down from the last in-person show in 2020 where around 32,000 industry professionals attended the show.

“Despite the challenges of travel, approximately 21% of registered attendees were international, representing 110 countries,” organizers said. “As in previous years, Latin America had the strongest international presence, representing 51% of international registrants.”

At the expo, AFIA also held its Pet Food Conference during which several industry experts shared their insights on topics affecting the industry, such as: human-grade pet food, AAFCO and FDA regulations, trade and cybersecurity. The Pet Food Conference also involved three student research presentations on grain-free diets, green banana flour in canned formulas and pathogen prevention in raw food formulas.

Next year’s IPPE will be held Jan. 24-26, 2023, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
