Residents with registered pets will soon receive a notice in the mail with their annual registration fee invoice.
Council administrator Peter Stephenson said it was also a reminder for anyone who may have recently welcomed a new cat or dog to the home to get them registered.
Cats and dogs aged three months or older must be registered with council, and they must be micro-chipped before registration.
If you have recently moved to the area, you must also register your pet with council.
“It is an easy process to register your pet with council,” Mr Stephenson said.
“All you need to do is visit our council offices at 109A Binney St, Euroa, or 293 High St, Nagambie, complete a pet registration form, and pay your fee with our friendly customer service team.”
Registering your pet and having it wear the council identification marker allows for a range of benefits, including:
“We’re encouraging members of the community to be responsible pet owners, register your pet and make sure it wears its ID tag at all times,” Mr Stephenson said.
