WHAT if you could rake in simply by chilling with puppies?

Well, according to one woman, that's possible – and in fact, she's made close to an astronomical £30k by this and other easy side hustles.

According to the woman, there is a site where you can sign up to do pet sitting – for moneyCredit: Getty

Over the last six years, Leonie R., 35, from Lambeth, London, has done everything – whether that's pet sitting to to tennis coaching – as a way to rake in some extra cash on the side.

Chatting to MyLondon, Leonie explained that she had started a non-profit business – however, the entrepreneur realised she needed extra income to keep herself afloat whilst selflessly helping others.

So, the 35-year-old looked into using Airtasker, a local services marketplace, which connects you, the client, to a skilled person to complete a wide range of tasks, such as cleaning, looking after a dog, catering, cooking and flooring, to name a few.

Leonie joined the site in 2018, and has since completed more than a whopping 620 tasks.

Some of these, she revealed, included things like property cleaning, tennis coaching and other handyman jobs.

It's just the extra cash she appreciates – the entrepreneur has also had a chance to escape the loneliness she had found herself in.

As a founder of a non-profit business, Leonie was struck by a wave of spending the majority of the time by herself – however, Airtask enabled her to get out and meet people through these different jobs.

The Londoner said: “I've always been passionate about helping others to a high standard and being able to use my wide skillset and earn extra income is brilliant.

”Being validated for my work through clients returning to me and the reviews I get means a lot, I only wish Airtasker was around much sooner!”

Looking for more ways to make some extra cash this year? Check out some options…

Surveys – around £200 a year

There are hundreds of sites that will pay you to fill out surveys and share your opinion in market research.

The best part? You don't need to have specific knowledge to get started – you just need to take some time to fill in your thoughts or which multiple choice answers apply to you.

Some surveys take less than a minute to complete while others happen in person and take a full day – which typically will also rake you in more cash.

Some of the best-known survey sites are:

  • i-Say
  • Swagbucks
  • Crowdology
  • Curious Cat
  • Google Opinion Rewards
  • PopulusLive

Drive time – £200 a month

If you've got a full UK driving licence, as well as the right to work in the UK and have got access to a vehicle of a decent size, there are a number of side hustles to consider.

One of them, for instance, is becoming a cab driver for any of the big apps in the industry, such as Uber or Bolt.

At the start of it, you will have to go through a vetting process – but once you're approved, drivers can pick their hours and start earning around £15 an hour.

However, it's worth noting that you should be prepared for the company to take a percentage of what you earn from customers they refer to you.

Another option is to turn your car into a moving advert – businesses like CarQuids and Drovo pay up to £200 a month to plaster company ads over your vehicle.

Wrap it up – £15 an hour

There are also parcel delivery services such as Amazon Flex and Hermes, which is yet another great option is you want to work flexibly.

Depending on which app you use, it can be super easy to get started and some places pay twice a week – cha-ching.

With this side hustle, it's possible to earn between £13 and £15 an hour – however, this depends where you live and how many deliveries you do.
