Jamshedpur, Nov 4: A strange but emotional request was made to the SSP on Saturday by a Telco resident urging the district Police captain to locate his missing dog. Reyaz Ahmad, a resident of Cross Road # 19 in Telco stated, “Our much-loved pet dog, a Welsh Corgi breed and the only one of its kind in Jharkhand has gone missing since Friday. The gate of our residence was open and the dog ventured out. The time was 6:30 pm. An unknown person lured our pet and took him away. The incident has been recorded by the CCTV. What compelled me to request our SSP was that I had previously filed a complaint about my missing dog at the local police station, but my FIR was not registered. I was frustrated and worried and thus I came to meet SSP Sir with my request.”
Reyaz informed that he had his Welsh Corgi dog imported from Russia at accost of (in Indian currency) Rs 1.60 lakh. “We have implanted a microchip in our pet’s collar for tracking and identification,” he added. The earnestness in Reyaz Ahmad’s appeal underlines the deep bond between man and pet.
