A dog rescue charity has revealed it is trialling a partnership with a Lincolnshire-based pet food brand to feed its pups in need.
Jerry Green Dog Rescue, which has branches in Algarkirk and Brigg, launched a three-month test period with Vitalin Pet Food on Monday supplying nutrient-dense recipes to all of its centres.
The partnership comes after the brand has continued to support the shelter for more than ten years volunteering its time, judging dog shows and sponsoring the charity’s summer show.
Prior to this, Vitalin has worked with Jerry Green, to give support on specific feeding plans for some of the dogs in their care including Koby the Husky.
Koby arrived at one of the Nottinghamshire branches earlier this year and was considerably underweight.
After being fed nutritious food, Koby has recovered and is now ready for adoption.

“Our dogs deserve the best, and this partnership ensures they receive consistent, high-quality food.
“This generous donation not only benefits the health of our dogs but also frees up our staff to spend more time on enriching activities that enhance the welfare of the dogs in our care.

Over the course of the trial, the brand will supply grain-free Chicken, Thyme and Root Vegetable food, specially formulated for puppies, small breeds, and adult dogs.
Jerry Green Dog Rescue believes this is a significant step forward that will continue to enhance to care of its animals.
