When singer Josh Groban agreed to a blind date, he probably didn’t expect his companion to have four legs and a wagging tail. As part of The Dodo’s “Dodo Dream Date” series, Josh teamed up with Monty, an adorable rescue dog, to highlight the importance of pet adoption.

Josh’s love for animals made him the perfect match for this fun-filled adventure with Monty. Hoping to break the ice, Josh took Monty to a popsicle stand. However, Monty wasn’t interested in the light red or orange popsicle flavors Josh offered. It seems Monty has quite a refined taste!
Josh found the situation amusing and joked about Monty’s picky eating habits. Later, when Monty got distracted by a bug, Josh quipped that he was like the “Snow White of dogs,” charming all creatures except the person trying to share a treat with him.
These little moments highlighted Monty’s playful and curious personality, bringing plenty of laughter to their day. Next, they visited a giant piano, where Josh introduced Melanie from Global Arts, a program that offers free music education to kids in Los Angeles.
Josh encouraged Monty to step on the piano keys, and Monty happily obliged. As Monty pawed at the keys, Josh playfully called him a “musical genius.”
As their day together wound down, Josh reflected on his time with Monty. He admitted that earning Monty’s affection took some effort, but that’s part of what makes connections with pets so rewarding. It was clear that Josh had grown fond of his furry date.
