“We were talking about rescues and he was saying they were definitely going to rescue another one from Battersea and that losing their dog was so sad.”
The King, and in particular the Queen, were reportedly “heartbroken” by the loss of Beth, according to the statement revealing the news made by Buckingham Palace.
“A sad farewell to Beth, the Queen's much-loved companion from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire,” the palace shared.

Camilla had been rescued by the Queen in 2011, with the pup becoming a part of the royal family. The Queen later adopted another Jack Russell, Bluebell, soon after getting Beth.
She had to make the tough decision of putting the beloved dog down after the diagnosis of an untreatable tumour.
Camilla became patron of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in 2017, taking over from the late Queen Elizabeth II.
