DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – King’s Harvest No-Kill Pet Rescue is moving to a new location in the new year.

King’s Harvest Pet Rescue’s new location on Holden Drive will be able to house more cats and twice as many dogs, according to officials. The new location’s building was purchased about a year ago.

The move to that new location is expected to happen in January.

The director of King’s Harvest Pet Rescue said local shelters across the country and well over capacity, and now they’ll be able to house more animals in need.

“There’s so many shelters right now that are euthanizing for space, just because so many people can’t afford their animals anymore and they’re surrendering them,” said Terri Gleize, Executive Director of King’s Harvest Pet Rescue. “We’re going to be able to open and save a lot more animals.”

The current facility can house 24 dogs, but the new facility will hold 50 dogs and a lot more cats, Gleize said. The rescue could use more help moving animals and other items after Christmas.

If you’re interested in helping King’s Harvest Pet Rescue, contact the shelter, Gleize said.
