Kohima, October 15 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed all schools and Anganwadi centre within its jurisdiction to create a safe environment for children from stray dogs in accordance with the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023.
The directive was issued in pursuance of the Directorate of Municipal Affairs, Nagaland with reference to urgent implementation of safety measures for preventing stray dog attacks on children by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).
The KMC further urged all residents of Kohima to vaccinate their pet dogs and ensure they are kept on a leash.
