Lady Loads Puppies Into Van, Holds Off Protective Snarling Mom From Attack

This is the story of a mama dog named Darcy and her seven puppies. The canine family was discovered living in a tent in a homeless colony near a property in Southern California. Concerned for their well-being, the property owner contacted a local animal rescue organization for help.

Upon arriving at the scene, the rescuer found Darcy, a protective and initially untrusting mother, snarling and trying to protect her family. However, with gentle coaxing and reassurance, Darcy eventually allowed the rescuer to carry her puppies to the safety of her van. As the rescuer continued to speak softly to Darcy, she began to warm up to her, eventually allowing herself to be picked up and placed in a crate with her puppies.

The canine family was then taken to a foster home, where they were welcomed with open arms. The foster family gave Darcy the space she needed to adjust to her new surroundings, and she quickly built trust with them. Over time, Darcy began to seek out love and attention from her foster family, transforming from a fearful and aggressive dog to a sweet and gentle one.

Darcy’s puppies also received a clean bill of health and have since moved to Hope Ranch for further socialization as they prepare for adoption. Darcy herself has been staying with the rescuer, who has been amazed by her transformation. “She is kind and sweet and gentle. There is no aggression in her whatsoever,” the rescuer said.

Although the rescuer would love to keep Darcy, she already has four other dogs and believes that Darcy deserves a family where she can be the center of attention. The hope is that a loving family will soon adopt Darcy and give her the life she deserves.
