LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Lakewood dog owners didn’t let a stormy Saturday stop them from flocking to Madison Park in coordinating costumes with their furry friends for the 16th annual Spooky Poorch parade.
The annual Halloween celebration is put on by LakewoodAlive, a community nonprofit that benefits from proceeds from the Spooky Pooch celebration. Madison Park was filled with local vendors from pet stores to kennel services supporting the annual parade. The wind and rain did slow down the celebrations a bit, but the participants in the parade lined up around the block to march around the park from Athens Avenue to Madison Avenue.
Dozens of dogs and owners sported costumes both classic and creative. A few notable standouts included Taylor Swooft, the pint-sized pup version of Taylor Swift, and a group costume that depicted a 5-day weather forecast.
