NOCO Humane is expanding its reach through Northern Colorado with the addition of a third facility next year, the organization announced Thursday.
The planned NOCO Humane Greeley Adoption Campus will be located near the corner of 65th Avenue and U.S. Highway 34 in Greeley, according to a NOCO Humane news release. The campus, which was formerly home to Sirius Fun Doggie Daycare, is currently under renovation. The organization plans to open it in 2025.
It will feature 30 dog kennels, 60 cat enclosures, a space for small mammals and several meet-and-greet areas. The facility will be smaller and focused on housing adoptable animals and offering a space for one-on-one interactions with prospective adopters, according to NOCO Humane.
It will join NOCO Humane's existing Larimer and Weld county facilities and help relieve pressure on its Weld campus in Evans. Since Larimer Humane Society absorbed the Humane Society of Weld County last fall — becoming NOCO Humane — the organization has seen a 57% increase in the number of animals coming through itsshelter doors, according to NOCO Humane.
