An upcoming event aims to help people living outside in Lawrence and their pets connect with helpful resources and services. A free health clinic is scheduled for the same day.

The event is set for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 in front of the Homeless Resource Center — the DARE (Drop-In And Rest) Center rebranded — at 944 Kentucky St. Resources will be on 10th Street between Vermont and Kentucky streets, according to an event flyer.

The Lawrence Humane Society will provide pet vaccines, wellness exams, heartworm testing for dogs, deworming and flea prevention, according to a flyer from the organization.

It will also offer microchips to help owners reconnect with pets if they get lost, as well as pet food and supplies. Pet parents can also sign pets up for spay or neuter surgery. Look for the humane society’s blue van.

Many organizations serving people will also be present, including organizations that provide shower and laundry services, a mobile food pantry, veterans services, free lifeline cellphones, substance use help and more.

Earlier the same day, LMH Health and Heartland Community Health Center will offer a free health clinic, according to a post from the Homeless Resource Center. That’s set for 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 11 during Jubilee Cafe in United Methodist Church, 946 Vermont St.

Here are flyers about the event (tap or click to enlarge):
