Lazy people should avoid ‘working dogs’ – I have the best breed to watch Netflix with all day, they’re fit for royalty

A DOG lover has shared what they think is the best dog to chill with if you like to relax.

Not only is the breed fit for a king or queen, but they're so low-maintenance, that they're a great pet to watch television with all day.

Redditor ChogbortsTopStudent came to the rescue when Reddit user hanare992 was looking for a breed that was “suitable for lazy people.”

They addressed their concerns in a community for dog owners and added in the post that almost any they like needs “lots of exercise” and room to run around.

Redditor ChogbortsTopStudent first explained why it was important to look up the breeding background of a dog.

But emphasized how that doesn't mean that you should get the dog from a breeder.

The Reddit user commented that “it will give you insight into its personality.”

You won't be surprised by its wants, needs, or desires.

They know first-hand because they grew up with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel running around their home as a family pet.

They would have no problem being lazy for a living.

According to ChogbortsTopStudent, they were “bred to warm the feet of royalty.”

Dalmatians are “less keen” on chilling and may need at least one walk a day.

It seems like the top choice for Reddit user hanare992.

It's also good for anyone who wants to spend a day “snuggling on the couch watching Netflix.”

I’m a dog trainer – 5 breeds you should avoid or be prepared to do lots of training, exercise, and trips to the vets

Unlike the animal mentioned above, other dogs have to be productive and constantly have an active outlet.

If they don't, they might “go crazy.”

For example, Dalmatians are “less keen” on chilling and may need at least one walk a day.

That's not an obscenely wild activity for a lazy person because it's healthy to have semi-regular movement.

Look at the traits and history of the certain breed, or breeds, of the ones you're interested in.

Redditor ChogbortsTopStudent said that “it will help the dog get some activity” even if they're not active themselves.

In the end, they recommended starting with specific classes and then “working your way down” to breeds when choosing a pet.

Then, look at the traits and history of the certain breed, or breeds, of the ones you're interested in.

Also, going through a breeder isn't necessary for this process, unless you're interested in a purebred.

If so, absolutely go for it.

Lastly, they suggested making a “yes/no column sheet” of breeds that work with your particular lifestyle and those that don't.

In their opinion, this three-step method is a good way to find out which ones will be a good match for you.
