SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – This time of year is pet licensing season.
Every animal, every dog or cat living in the city limits has to have a city license and a current rabies vaccination.
You can get city licenses at city hall or down at Animal Adoption and Rescue.
It is $15 for an altered animal $31 for an unaltered cat and $50 for an altered dog.
The city uses this to help keep track of pet numbers and needs pet owners to be responsible.
“We’re working we’re working very hard very diligently making sure they are spade and neutered before they get adopted to try and cut down on pet population but owners also have to do their part by making sure their animals are vaccinated and that they stay healthy as well as getting their licenses so we can document how many animals we do have in the city,” said Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue Cindy Rarrat.
