LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock Animal Shelter has more than 100 dogs waiting to be adopted, and they’re ready to send these pups out to loving homes at no cost during the entire month of September.
Dogs staying in the Long Stay Room are available for free adoption. You’ll need to be 18 years old with a valid ID to fill out adoption paperwork.
These dogs are fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. If you’re unable to decide which pet fits your family best, the shelter has a program in place to help.
LAS Director Steven Greene said, “We have a program when you adopt, you can do a trial adoption and have that dog or cat for 14 days. In that time period you can see how it acts in your home, with your other pets, with your children, family…”
The shelter currently has 300 dogs and cats available. If you see a pet that’s not in the “Long Stay Room,” the adoption fee is $30.
