Lyft, Animal Planet team up to offer pet rides ahead of Puppy Bowl

The Puppy Bowl and Super Bowl are both Sunday, Feb. 9, and Lyft is partnering with Animal Planet ahead of the big games to offer discounted Pet Rides to encourage pet adoption.

According to the rideshare company, Pet Rides allow riders to match with drivers who are pet-friendly and “ready to welcome furry friends into their vehicles.”

“For just $4 plus tax, you can ensure that your ride is prepared to accommodate your pet's needs – whether they're a playful pub or a curious cat,” the company said in a news release. The fee goes entirely to the driver, the company said.

Starting Feb. 2 through Feb. 9, Lyft is offering 50% off two Pet Rides of up to $20 per ride with the code “PUPPYBOWL.” These rides can be used to get to and from animal shelters with your new adopted or fostered pet in tow, the rideshare company said.

Pet riders in New Orleans the week of the games will also have the opportunity to be surprised with a Pupmobile upon their pickup, Lyft said in the news release. Pupmobiles are Lyft rides equipped with Puppy Bowl swag like dog bandanas and toys to be gifted to pets and their owners.
