Get ready for the most adorable contest of the year! The 2025 Rescue Brew Contest is officially underway. That means your dog or cat could be the face of this year’s limited-edition Rescue Brew crafted by Commonhouse Aleworks.

Think your pet has star power? Here’s your big break! Submit your favorite photo and share why your pet deserves to be featured on the Rescue Brew label at CharlestonAnimalSociety.org/RescueBrew. Entries are open now through April 25, and each nomination requires a $20 donation. Every dollar supports all of the animals rescued at Charleston Animal Society.

Once entries close, the real fun begins. From April 26 to May 25, the public can vote for their favorite pet star. Each $1 donation equals one vote, so rally your friends, family and fellow animal lovers to support your pet. The top three vote-getters in both the dog and cat categories will become finalists, with celebrity judges from our sponsor organizations choosing one dog and one cat to appear on this summer’s Rescue Brew label.

“We are looking forward to a record-breaking year,” said Pearce Fleming, proprietor of Commonhouse Aleworks. “The photos of the animals are so cute, you will want to vote for more than one.”

Join us April 13 for the Rescue Brew launch party

Bring your pup April 13 to Commonhouse Aleworks in North Charleston to celebrate the start of the contest. Enjoy an afternoon of live bluegrass, craft beer, pet adoptions and even a free pet photo booth to help you capture the perfect shot for your entry. On top of this, enjoy a free pint of beer and a complimentary Charleston Animal Society tasting glass (for the first 100 participants).

About Charleston Animal Society: Since 1874, the mission of Charleston Animal Society has always been the prevention of cruelty to animals. Over 20,000 animals will turn to Charleston Animal Society for caring, compassion and hope this year alone. In addition to caring for homeless animals, adopting them into new homes, and reuniting lost pets with their families, the organization responds to animals in crisis as a result of both man-made and natural disasters. The comprehensive shelter medicine program not only provides direct services for as many as 1,200 animals in our system of care at one time, the shelter veterinarians also spay or neuter upwards of 15,000 dogs and cats each year and they provide emergency medical services to critically ill and injured animals arriving at the shelter daily.  For more information, visit www.CharlestonAnimalSociety.org.
