Man and pets found dead after North Port House Fire


NORTH PORT, Fla. – A man and his pets were found dead in his home after a fire in North Port on Saturday.

According to North Port Fire Rescue, crews responded to the 3800 block of Trenton Lane on Dec. 16 at 12:10 p.m

The press release states that there was no visible fire on the outside of the home when crews arrived.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered an extinguished fire in the kitchen of a single-story home.

A man was found dead inside.

Two cats and two dogs were also found dead.

The home did not have working smoke detectors.

A joint investigation is underway by the North Port Police Department and the State Fire Marshal.
