JACKSON TWP., Pa. – A man jumped out of a second-floor window to escape a serious house fire in the Poconos, according to the homeowner.
It was reported at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at a home on Cays Road in Jackson Township, Monroe County, a few miles south of Camelback Ski Resort.
One person was flown to the hospital with injuries, according to emergency dispatchers.
Two dogs and seven cats died, the homeowner said.
The two-story home appeared to have significant interior damage.
Authorities have not yet commented on injuries or what may have sparked the fire.
