The Marshall Pet Adoption Center (MPAC) is proud to be invited to participate in DOGust 1st. This annual event, hosted by North Shore Animal League, recognizes Aug. 1 as the birthday of all shelter dogs.

Looking for a fur-ever friend? MPAC is offering a paw-some adoption rate of $25 for all pups through Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Can’t commit but want to help? Consider fostering a pet! To learn more about this program, visit the Friends of Marshall Animals website.

‘Discover Our Parks’ Photo Contest

In July, the Marshall News Messenger hosted a “Discover Our Parks” photo contest in conjunction with Parks and Recreation month. Voting is currently underway through Sunday, Aug. 4.

Winners have a chance to win $150 treasure chest of gift cards to local restaurants and entertainment venues.

The winning photo will be featured, along with the top 10 runners up, in the News Messenger print product!

Donation Opportunities

The Marshall Public Library (MPL) is collecting boxes and/or bags of cereal during the month of Aug. to benefit Mission Marshall. The library is located at 300 S. Alamo Blvd. For more information, call MPL at (903) 935-4465.

The Marshall Pet Adoption Center (MPAC) has an ongoing need for newspapers to line animal cages. Donations may be dropped off at any time in the donation bin located outside under the front porch. Call MPAC at (903) 935-4530 for more information.
