SAVANNA, Ill. (KWQC) -Heartland Pet Welfare, Inc. is a not-for-profit, no kill shelter founded in 1999 dedicated to finding loving, forever homes. When you adopt, you’re not just giving a deserving cat or kitten a home. It’s part of the important effort to reduce the demand for kitten mills and other industrial-scale breeding operations that put profit before animal welfare.
Viewers are introduced to “Mango”, a beautiful orange kitten found in Morrison and ended up in the Savanna shelter along with her sister.
Heartland Pet Welfare is run completely by volunteers with no paid workers. The facility cleans in the mornings and is open to show cats in the afternoon and evening by appointment.
