Melissa Ricks is overwhelmed with grief after she bid goodbye to her fur baby, Potchi, who had been with her for 16 years.
The actress remembered her pet dog through a series of posts on her Instagram page, lamenting how she was not by his side when he passed away.
“Forever and always. I love you my boy. Thank you,” said Ricks, who appears to be in the United States based on her previous social media posts. “You were by my side in every season. I’m sorry I wasn’t next to you this time.”
“[Sixteen] years wasn’t enough. Never enough,” she added. “Before I left I asked you to wait for me, pero alam mo siguro na ‘di ko kaya kung nandyan ako.”

Ricks further showed snaps of her and Potchi as she expressed her longing for her fur baby.
“I love you my boy. More than you will ever know,” she wrote. “Rest easy my love.”

While Ricks did not expound on Potch’s cause of death, the celebrity mom shared in February 2024 that Potchi had become blind and deaf.
“It’s heartbreaking to know he can’t see us and hear us, but we’re making sure he knows we’re here and we will take care of him,” she said at the time. “It’s never easy taking care of a senior dog but we got this.”
Ricks and her family celebrated Potchi’s 16th birthday last December.
