MADISON, Wis. — Five people were displaced and a dog was rescued after a fire on Madison's southwest side Friday night.
Madison Fire responded to the scene at 6:03 p.m. where an attached garage was fully involved in heavy flames.
Crews were able to locate the dog who was unresponsive and brought the dog outside. Oxygen was administered through a pet oxygen mask and the dog was revived.
The dog was transported to the emergency vet clinic and is reported to be in stable condition.
The fire was knocked down at 6:36 p.m. and firefighters continued to fight persistent hot spots for about ten minutes.
Flames did extend into the adjacent living spaces of the home, causing fire and smoke damage inside. No injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross also assisted at the scene.
