In celebration of International Dog Day on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) Health Emergency Life Protection (HELP) Program team will partner with Miami-Dade County Animal Services to showcase free demonstrations and lifesaving training for the community and their pets.
The event is set to take from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center located at 3599 NW 79 Avenue, Doral, FL 33122.
Free demonstrations of the HELP Program include:
– The newly added Fur Baby CPR (CPR for dogs)
– Adult and pediatric hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
– Managing blocked airways emergencies for adults, children, infants, and pets
– Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) operations
– Early stroke recognition
– Stopping the bleed
Animal Services is participating in the annual Clear the Shelters campaign, where they promote pet adoptions and raise awareness about the significance of animal welfare.
