Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in southern Minnesota are searching for a person suspected of shooting and killing a dog.

Investigators have collected evidence tied to the shooting, including a threatening note sent to the slain dog’s owner warning them to stop their dog from barking.

A second person in the same neighborhood also reported getting the same threatening note.

Those notes were sent two weeks before the apparent shooting, a news release says. Investigators have also obtained camera footage.

Dog Shot & Killed Near Mankato, Two Weeks After Owners Get Threatening Note

The news release issued, by the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, says deputies responded to the report of a dog being shot and killed. The report came from a neighborhood in rural western Mankato on Saturday.

Upon arriving at the home deputies found a dead medium-sized and  mixed-breed, female dog that had appeared to have been shot.

A neighbor told deputies they had been outside at the time of the apparent deadly shooting and reported hearing two apparent gunshots.

Everyday items that our pets love more than their expensive toys

We spend a fortune on brand new toys for our pets. Chances are that they will completely destroy those at some point. But before that destruction happens, there are some normal, everyday items that we have in our homes that our pets would rather play with. The best thing…these “toys” are usually way less expensive.
