Minnesota Dog Lovers! Beware Of These Dangerous Holiday Foods

The holiday season will be here before we know it and many families are already preparing for Thanksgiving and beyond.

We host Thanksgiving each year and while we cook the turkeys, stuffing, and other things, our family members are always nice enough to ask what they can bring. So, we email an invitation for them to RSVP and let everyone else know what food they'll bring to share.

We have two dogs at our house so with all this food around, it's a good time to remember a lot of the food that is enjoyed over the holidays can be harmful and even deadly for our pets.

If you're a dog owner, chances are you've called some pet poison control hotline after they got into something. While some dog breeds tend to get into a bit more trouble than others, it's an issue for a lot of dogs.

Some foods are notorious for being dangerous for dogs and they're around all year. For example, it is well-known that Xylitol, the artificial sweetener found in some sugar-free gum, candies, and baked goods, is deadly for pets.

However, other foods aren't as common outside of the holiday season so it's a good idea to brush up on these 10 holiday foods you'll want to keep far away from your pets.
