VANCOUVER — Modern Plant Based Foods Inc. announced Oct. 22 that it has successfully completed the acquisition of plant-based pet food company AnimalKind. According to Modern, this strategic move supports its commitment to expanding and enhancing its product offerings within the sustainable food sector.
Based in Richmond, British Columbia, AnimalKind specializes in sustainable, plant-based pet food and treat products. The company’s products include popular Blueberries, Apple Chunks and Pumpkin dog treats. According to Modern, this addition to its portfolio aligns with its strategic expansion into plant-based sectors beyond human food, in response to the increase in consumer demand for sustainable and ethical products across all categories.
“This acquisition fits seamlessly with our strategy to innovate in the plant-based and sustainable pet food market,” said Modern’s Chief Executive Officer Avtar Dhaliwal. “AnimalKind will help us broaden our product offerings and better serve our customers with high-quality, sustainable solutions.”
Following the acquisition, Modern will remain committed to driving innovation in plant-based markets, aiming to offer both consumers and their pets sustainable, healthy and environmentally conscious alternatives.
