Mongongo and Thistle — Pets of the Week

Thistle is looking for a calmer home that can provide lots of cuddles and playtime. He did not enjoy the kennel environment at the shelter but thrived in foster care. He warmed up to people very quickly but can still be a little skittish at times.

Some of Thistle’s favorite things include warm laps, toys he can chase, other cats to play with and cat trees where he can window watch. He has the sweetest routine of waiting in the window for his foster parents. He will even rub against the window until you are inside. His meow is the cutest, and he is quick to purr. When he wants attention, he will give you a gentle slap on the hand.

Thistle should do well in a calmer home with respectful kids 8 and older; he can be mouthy when he is overwhelmed. He adores his cat friends in foster and is required to go home with another feline friend. Thistle currently lives with Sudoku and Mr. Jalapeno and they get along great. He has not met dogs in foster but might do well with a calm, cat-savvy dog.

Mongongo will need plenty of time to adjust to a new home, and is looking for understanding. He isn't a big fan of handling and will likely never be a lap cat, but he will come and sit by your feet and play with his toys and feline friends openly. Mongongo is very food motivated and allows pets while he is eating. He loves his Churu treats, which will definitely help build trust.

He is a shy guy who does startle easily at times from fast movements and loud noises. He is looking for a calmer and quieter home with a cat savvy family where he can continue to come out of his shell. He is looking for a family with children at least 10 years old who won't chase or scare him.

He is much more outgoing and confident with another feline friend right by his side, so he is required to go to a home with another cat. He may do OK with other calm and respectful pets given a slow introduction.
