FedEx drivers have a long history with dogs of all flavors. Many drivers carry dog treats for all their canine friends along the route. They know where the dogs belong, and when they spot them roaming, they take the wayward pups home. When doggie daycare closed, this driver added two co-pilots and carried his service dogs on his route. This Labrador tried to photobomb the delivery confirmation photo. While FedEx drivers are prepared for dogs greeting them, how do they prepare when a horse greets them?
When FedEx arrives to deliver a package to Christine Flock’s house, her horse, Loretta, greets the driver. Do the drivers need to start carrying carrots? That might be a consideration if you’re the driver on Christine’s route.
Loretta is a barrel racing horse. She is very agile and responsive to her rider (Christine). When not practicing or participating in a competition, the horse roams free within the fenced pasture area. Like many horses, any attention is good attention, and Loretta likely wants a little face rub or some scritches between her ears. She even annoys her Mom when she wants attention.
Christine freely admits that “She wants to be a lap dog.” So it makes perfect sense that the horse greets the FedEx driver at the gate. Maybe Christine should hang a box outside the fence to supply carrots or another healthy treat for drivers to give to Loretta.
