NEW YORK (PIX11) – If your mom has a pet, you might want to think twice about what flowers you buy for her on Mother’s Day.
Certain flowers can be harmful to cats and dogs, according to House Digest. Lilies, for example, are toxic to cats and pose a risk to dogs, according to experts.
Foxgloves can cause upset stomachs or even cardiac arrests in pets upon contact or if they eat the flower.
Tulips and daffodils can also cause intense toxicity symptoms in pets.
Other flowers to avoid if your mother has a pet include oleanders, azaleas and hydrangeas.
