Mountain Warehouse will open more stores across the UK as it cashes in on dog lovers buying clothes to walk their pets.

The outdoor clothing chain said it has opened 20 stores over the past six months and has a 'strong' pipeline of locations. 

The firm said it has been lifted by the boom in dog ownership since Covid.

It posted a £26.2m profit for the year, swinging from a £1.5m loss a year earlier. 

Revenues jumped by 4 per cent to a record £386m.
