A similar hammock can be found for £17 at the Range

The dog “mum” has posted her game-changing hack on TikTok and it has since gained 2.5 million views.

When travelling with small pets, a hammock that attaches to the car window can make the experience a breeze.

In the clip, a small chihuahua is seen basking in the sun lying in the comfortable car accessory.

And the best part of it – it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune.

A similar hammock can be found for the price of £17 at the Range.

With powerful suction cups, it can be easily attached to the window and withstand the pet’s weight and the shaky journey.

Other pet owners have flooded to the comments, calling the trick “adorable”.

One person wrote: “What is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my Chihuahua would love that.”

Another one added: “Stops dogs getting sick if they can see out. Dolly gets so car sick.”

A third person said: “My dog wouldn’t never stay still in it but it’s cute.”

Someone else added that it’d be great for cats too, saying: “My cat loves car rides but can never get comfortable. this is sooo perfect.”

One commenter joked, saying: “My dogs too fat and would probably fall off.”

While this trick might be useful, the drivers are reminded to keep their furry friends from sticking their heads out a car window.

Your dog might love nothing more than sticking its head out a car window while you drive – but it could cost you dearly.

The owners might have to fork out £5,000 if their dogs are caught enjoying the fresh air.

The Highway Code also recommends using a “seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard” to restrain animals in the car.

TOP TIPS FOR DRIVING WITH YOUR PET

  • Experts believe using a cage or crate in the boot is the safest way to transport your pet
  • Don’t feed your pet within two hours of starting a long car journey to avoid carsickness
  • Pack a favourite toy or blanket to give your pet a sense of familiarity
  • Use sun shades on the windows when it is hot or the sun is bright and never leave a pet in a hot car
  • Always carry a large water bottle (5 litres minimum) in case your pet overheats and needs to be rapidly cooled in an emergency
  • Don’t allow your pet to ride with its head hanging out of the window, as it’s potentially dangerous and can cause injury

Meanwhile, a car expert has revealed the most comfortable cars for dogs – and features that can help drivers avoid hefty fines.

Dogs come in all shapes and sizes – so when you get a new pet, you might need to upgrade your car to make sure they’re as comfy as possible.

The ultimate hack to getting rid of your four-legged friend’s fur has been revealed – and it’s so simple.
