The size of this paycheck would have anyone wagging their tail.

A pet influencer has revealed how much money she made from her dog’s Instagram account last year — and followers are amazed.

Alison, who manages her dog Monty’s Instagram account, began posting photos and videos of her pup to keep friends and family updated on his growth and cuteness.

She was surprised to see that her follower count also grew. The Instagram account @monty.mung now has 22,400 followers logging on to see adorable photos and videos giving insights into Monty’s life.

After about a year of managing the account, Alison decided to share how much money the account made from “paid gigs and creating content for brands,” with products like Open Farm Pet dog food and Native Pet supplements.

January through June 2024 weren’t profitable, but the family made $400 from July to August.

In September, they cashed in $800, and in October and November $600. Then the holidays really helped out: in December, Monty helped Alison earn $2,513, which all added up to $4,313 in earnings last year.

“The scariest post I’ve ever made. All for the sake of pay transparency,” Alison wrote.

“I started Monty’s Instagram to share cute pictures with my family and friends so that I didn’t have to flood my personal page. I was incredibly fortunate to find a community of people who loved watching Monty grow up and experience the world.

“When I started to take on paid gigs and creating content for brands, I honestly had zero idea how I was supposed to charge, what I was supposed to charge for, and how much my work was worth.”

She also noted: “This workspace is not regulated, and talking about $ is very taboo in our culture” and explained that she shared the post to show how “every like, comment, save, share” translates to supporting them, pushing for fair pay and to be transparent about making money from the account.

Alison insisted that despite being paid she wants to be “extremely honest” and would “never promote” something that she didn’t like herself.

“Thank you again for supporting our small page. I have spoken to so many of you via comments and DM (literally makes my day when I get puppy pictures in my inbox) and I’m so grateful for your support!” she concluded the post.

Her comments were quickly flooded with people expressing their support and amazement for Alison and Monty — and their paychecks.

“This is amazing!!! You guys are totally killing it!!” one admirer wrote, while another added, “So glad this is working for y’all … makes me feel like I should put more effort in but it gets discouraging.”

“Monty better have bought you guys Christmas presents last December with those earnings!” one viewer joked.
