A YOUNG woman has been left floored by a string of angry texts from her neighbour.

Whilst negative neighbours can be annoying, this 18-year-old, who is living alone for the first time, was totally stunned after her neighbour fumed at her for confronting his dog’s foul behaviour.

The youngster took to social media to open up about her situation, after she was left unnerved by her cruel neighbour’s response when she asked him to stop his dog, a Pit Bull (a breed banned in the UK), from going to the toilet in her garden.

The anonymous woman posted on Reddit, on the r/AmIOverreacting thread and confessed that her neighbour’s pet, who is named Bruno, keeps using her front garden as a toilet.

Alongside screenshots of her WhatsApp messages to her nearby neighbour, the woman penned: “This is not a conversation between adults, we're young adults.

“I was frustrated and texted him about it and this is the attitude. I'm so done.”

She then asked: “It's my first time living alone, is this normal or am I overreacting?”

The woman shared two screenshots between her and her neighbour, and in the first message, which she sent to her neighbour at 1am, she wrote: “Hello, I’m [blank]. I’ve already mentioned Bruno using my front yard as a toilet to you, but you seem to be taking no action?”

Following this, she asked: “Please train him or keep him within your boundaries.”

But clearly unimpressed, her neighbour replied with a very sweary response which said: “At 1am midnight for f***s sake. You sound like he’s doing it NOW.”

He then added a baffling query: “Why the f*** you so polite for? We’re almost the same age.”

Following this, he continued: “And, I’VE ALREADY told you I’LL clean it. It’s not my problem that you clean it before I do.

Dangerous dogs wreak havoc with deadly attacks

“This s*** ain’t a f***ing competition. It’s something so silly what the f*** are you getting so worked up for???”

In response, the young woman replied: “I apologise for the ungodly hour I brought this up.

“I prefer my front yard with no dog s***. I clean it because you refuse to do it on time. I can’t just let it be dirty for weeks.

The Top Five Reasons Neighbours Squabble

One study by Compare the Market revealed the top reason British neighbour's argue

  1. Broken fences – top of the board was broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix it
  2. Parking: one of the leading drivers of neighbour disputes, with 54.1 per cent of people having issues with people parking in front of their house, parking bay or driveway
  3. Trees – complaints about a neighbour's tree cracking your garden path was also common with nearly half of participants finding it frustrating
  4. Bin wars – outdoor bin etiquette continues to ignite the most furious debates between neighbours
  5. Nosy Neighbours – some people have their eyes and ears at the ready to have a peek causing problems for others

“The last time I waited for almost a WEEK before I did it myself. When were you even planning to do that?”

She also acknowledged: “It’s gross and it stinks. He did this evening and I’ll have to clean it up because WHEN WILL YOU??”

But clearly the dog owner was not impressed, as he eagerly branded her “so dramatic”.

It's my first time living alone, is this normal or am I overreacting?

Shortly after, he then sent a string of messages in quick succession that read: “Well clean it up yourself if you’re so impatient.

“I can’t train him, he’s too aggressive, bear with it.

“Don’t text me about this s*** anymore or I’m f***ing blocking you.

“Nosy overdramatic b****”.

Reddit users react

The anonymous woman was left floored by the exchange and eagerly sought the opinions of internet strangers for guidance, to which many suggested methods in which to get the ultimate revenge.

One person suggested: “Get a shovel and loft the dog's poop onto his roof.”

Toss the poop onto his lawn, then it’s his problem

Someone else chimed in: “Front porch so he steps in it when he walks out. Every time.”

Whilst a third advised: “Toss the poop onto his lawn, then it’s his problem. Granted, he shouldn’t be allowing it to begin with but I’d definitely be leaving him a pile on his own side of the yard.”

At the same time, a fourth recommended: “And if he complains, send him a screenshot of his own text that says ‘nosy overdramatic b****’ or ‘it’s something so silly what the f*** you getting so worked up for’.”

Meanwhile, another sympathised: “That's insane. If my dog was s******g on someone else's lawn I'd clean it up immediately. That's just respect and common sense. Obviously you aren't overreacting.”
