MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Myrtle Beach's seasonal rules for dogs and bicycles on the beach are now in effect.
Through Labor Day, dogs are allowed on the beach before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m. Dogs must be on a leash and owners must pick up their droppings.
Dogs and bicycles are only allowed on the boardwalk between 5-10 a.m.

These seasonal rules do not apply to service dogs.
Experts recommend walking your dog in the early morning or evening as temperatures on the pavement can reach more than 100 degrees, and trips outside should only be for about 15 minutes. It's also important to make sure your pets have plenty of water and stay in the shade.
