NEW BEDFORD — Police and New Bedford Animal Control are investigating the shooting and injury of a dog on Saturday, reportedly at the corner of Clifford and Brook streets.
New Bedford police said officers met with a woman on Saturday who reported her pet dog was possibly shot with a pellet gun.
Footage of the incident was shared on social media, showing a dog roaming its fenced-in back yard. Security cameras set up in the back yard of the woman's house captured the sound of two loud bangs. The recorded footage shows the woman's dog then limping and appearing visibly injured.
