Nicola Peltz Beckham takes legal action against groomer after dog’s death

Nicola Peltz Beckham is suing a dog grooming company following the death of her chihuahua, Nala.

The actress, who is the daughter-in-law of Victoria and David Beckham, announced Nala’s death in June.

“My brain can’t comprehend where you went. I just feel so much pain,” she wrote on Instagram.

Her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, penned an emotional tribute to their fur baby on his page as well.

“Dear Nala, we miss you so much. You were unexpectedly taken from way us too soon and hope others don’t experience a loss after something as simple as a grooming. You were the cutest little baby girl and we will always think of you. We know you are looking and barking down on us. We love you so much and miss you beyond,” he wrote.

Nala died after a mobile dog grooming van was called to Nicola’s home on June 15. According to People, Nicola filed a lawsuit this week against the groomer who worked on the dog and the company as well.

“Nala went into the grooming van, a happy, healthy dog, but returned injured and in severe physical distress— breathing heavily and wheezing, with her chest pulsating,” the lawsuit claims.

Her legal team accused the dog groomer of “intentional and malicious abuse of dogs”. They also slammed the dog grooming company and its owner for keeping the groomer as an employee despite an alleged “history of complaints” against him.

Speaking to People, Nicola says she is in “shock and pain” over her dog’s death.

“I posted the experience on my Instagram to bring awareness, and was heartbroken to hear the horrifying stories from so many others who have experienced the same tragedy. I can’t bear it. I’m outraged to hear how common stories like Nala’s are,” she told the publication.
