HARFORD COUNTY, Md. — Nine people were displaced after a fire burned down a row house in Harford County, according to the Maryland Fire Marshall.
Just before 3 a.m., first responders arrived on the 2000 block of Browning Court, Abington.
The homeowners were awakened by the smell of smoke, and found a raging fire spreading from the back deck up the house’s walls, according to fire officials.

The residents made it out, but unfortunately, their pet dog died. One responding firefighter sustained an arm injury.
Fire officials have not determined what caused the fire, though they have not ruled out “discarded fire materials.”

Three total homes sustained damage, officials claim. The row homes of the building were left with moderate to severe fire, smoke, soot, and water damage.
The home where the fire originated was hit the hardest. Harford County Highway bought in an excavator to remove the heavy debris from the extensive damage.
