PADUCAH — The small dog enclosure at a local dog park will open to the public on Tuesday, the Paducah Parks & Recreation Department announced.
According to the department, while the new Noble Park Dog Park officially opened May 14, the small dog enclosure needed time for grass to establish. Park officials installed signage and tables Monday for the park opening Tuesday, when officials will remove the temporary fencing from the large dog park.
“I want to thank our dog lovers for their patience as we worked to relocate the dog parks and allow some time for grass to establish,” Director of Parks and Recreation Amie Clark said. “We are still working to improve the sites with additional work coming this fall including the reseeding of both enclosures, weed maintenance, and additional grading to improve drainage.
The dog parks consist of two fenced areas, with areas designated for dogs more than or less than 35 pounds. The dog parks include water fountains, fencing with vestibule entries, shelters, lighting, pet waste receptacles, paved accessible parking areas, and portable restrooms, the department said.
The dog parks are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily from April to October, and from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily from November to March. The department encourages all dog park visitors to review the full list of rules posted at the park.
The Paducah area's dog park relocated from Stuart Nelson Park to Noble Park earlier in 2024 to allow for construction of the new Paducah Sports Park.
