San Antonio, TX — A 65-year-old woman is recovering after she was attacked while walking on the Northside. Police say it happened moments after that dog, and another escaped from a nearby yard.
Marisol Buentello says the dog that attacked the woman is known for being vicious. Buentello says she and her neighbors have called 3-1-1 multiple times about the dog.

“The neighbors dog come out and they lash out at anybody that will pass by, and basically that’s what happened,” Buentello said. “She turned around to walk away. When she turned around, that’s when he leaped over and bit her leg. She fell over and he attacked. He proceeded to bite her again. She was yelling and yelling.”
The attack was caught on Buentello’s security camera. She says her husband ran out to help the injured woman after her daughter heard the screams.
“When my husband came out, she was already on the floor crying and, in a panic,” Buentello said.
The dog was caught and is not in Animal Care Services custody. The woman was taken to the hospital. There is no word on her condition at this time.
Animal Care Services released the following statement:
Animal Care Services is handling a severe dog bite case off Wayside and Vance Jackson this morning. The 65-year-old victim was bit on the left leg after a pair of dogs got out of a nearby yard. While those dogs are now in ACS custody, investigators are working with both the victim and witnesses to pursue affidavits for potential Dangerous Dog cases.
As ACS officers continue to work this case, we cannot stress enough how vital it is for residents to keep their pets securely on their property. Loose animals are a threat to public safety and owners who allow their dogs to roam are breaking the law.
