LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Nova, a two-month-old puppy with bright blue eyes and a mocha-colored coat, is ready to find her forever home. She was featured as KGNS’ Pet of the Week, brought in by Jeena Tijerina from Laredo Animal Care Services.
Nova was part of a litter of nine puppies who needed special care when they were just a week old. They were taken in as bottle babies and raised by emergency fosters. Now, Nova is back at the shelter and ready for adoption or fostering.
Nova is possibly a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, known for their beautiful spots and calm nature. She’s not old enough for her rabies shot yet, but she’ll be ready for it when she turns four months old, and she will also be spayed.
The shelter is currently full, and they are asking the community to help by fostering or adopting pets, especially with the cold weather coming. Small dogs and puppies like Nova need extra care during the cold months.
Adoptions are free, and fostering is also needed to help the shelter make space for more animals. Nova and other pets are waiting for loving homes.
Laredo Animal Care Services is located at 5202 Maher Avenue and is open Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on fostering or adopting, visit the shelter or contact them directly.
