TORONTO — On July 11, Open Farm announced it has achieved official B Corporation certification for its environmental and social efforts. With a commitment to offering ethically and sustainably sourced pet food, the certification was a natural progression for the company in advancing its mission to “Do Some Good for Animals and the Planet.”

To become B Corp certified, Open Farm completed more than 200 questions, assessing its impact on the community, employees, customers and the environment. The company scored 102.8 points on its assessment, much higher than the requirement of 80 points, reflecting its high standards in animal welfare, sustainability, transparency, and a fair and inclusive work environment. According to Open Farm, this makes it the highest-scoring dog and cat food brand sold throughout North America.
Among its various social and environmental initiatives, Open Farm has been a partner of the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC).
