TORONTO — Open Farm announced in late February the launch of its latest premium pet food offering: Goodbowl™. The new line touts sustainably and ethically sourced ingredients and nutritious formulations for dogs and cats in oven-baked kibble formats.

Goodbowl includes five recipes, three for dogs and two for cats. Proteins sourced for these diets are free from antibiotics or hormones, and the wild-caught salmon used in some formulas is Ocean Wise-certified. They also meet the Open Farm Promise, which holds suppliers to strict ethical and sustainable practices.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Goodbowl, offering pet parents another option to nourish their pets with premium, responsibly sourced ingredients,” said Mark Sapir, chief marketing officer at Open Farm. “Our commitment to pet wellness and sustainability continues to drive innovation, and we’re excited to share Goodbowl’s nutritional benefits with the pet community. We think the sub-brand offers modern pet parents their desired solution and given our attractive price points and strong value, we expect consumers will trade-up into super-premium nutrition.”

The new diets feature oven-baked kibble cooked in small batches. Recipes for dogs include Harvest Chicken & Brown Rice, Grass-Fed Beef & Brown Rice, and Wild-Caught Salmon & Brown Rice. Formulas for cats include Harvest Chicken & Brown Rice and Wild-Caught Salmon & Brown Rice. All formulations feature humanely raised animal protein or sustainably caught salmon as the first ingredient.

According to Open Farm, its commitment to transparency and sustainability is reinforced by the new Goodbowl line. The brand’s existing portfolio spans dry, freeze-dried, gently cooked meals, bone broths, treats, and other pet nutrition items, all dedicated to 100% transparency, animal welfare, and mitigating the industry’s environmental impact.

“As sustainability, transparency and animal welfare become more of a focus for pet parents, we know that our retailers are wanting to ensure they have in-demand products that uniquely fit this need,” said Amy Horton, chief sales officer at Open Farm.

Open Farm is currently exhibiting at Global Pet Expo 2024 in Orlando, Fla., from March 20 to 22 at booth #417.
