The Orange County Animal Services will waive adoption fees this weekend to encourage residents to adopt pets from the shelter.The promotion will be valid for Saturday and Sunday.This comes after the shelter said it was facing capacity concerns as they have been caring for over 200 pets in the last weeks. “We've received an overwhelming number of stray pets, and in addition to those, we have a queue of more than 275 people who are seeking to surrender their dogs to our shelter,” said Diane Summers, Manager for Orange County Animal Services.The shelter is now asking residents who encounter a displaced animal to try to locate the owner before bringing the animal to the shelter immediately.
