Oregonians are known for bringing their fur babies just about everywhere — and beaches are no exception.
According to a ranking by HomeToGo, an online vacation rental marketplace, five Oregon beaches ranked among the top 45 most dog-friendly coastal spots in the country. The 2025 Best in Shore Report selected beaches based on their pet policies as well as affordability, crowd levels and visitor satisfaction.
Claiming the No. 1 spot? Agate Beach in Newport, which scored top marks across the board. HomeToGo cited the spacious, uncrowded shoreline which offers leashed dogs plenty of room to roam.
Agate Beach scored a perfect 10 out of 10 as a hidden gem, thanks to its lower search volume, making it an ideal spot for travelers looking to avoid crowds. It also received a 9.23 for affordability, reflecting its budget-friendly lodging options. Last, it scored a 9.41 in visitor satisfaction, based on positive reviews from platforms such as Google, Tripadvisor, Yelp and Facebook, highlighting how much both people and their pets enjoy the destination.
Other high-ranking Oregon beaches included Pacific City Beach, ranking seventh; Bandon Beach, ranking ninth; Manzanita Beach, ranking 15th; and Lincoln City Beach, ranking 26th.
